Dataset-Specific Tokens

Used to govern collective datasets

Dataset-specific tokens follow an ERC-20 standard. They allow a collective to vote on what happens to their data. If the collective chooses, they can require people who request access to their data to burn dataset-specific tokens.

When setting up a dataset-specific token, developers must find a way to value each user's data in order to reward them with fungible tokens. We recommend a verification step, checking whether the data is valid and owned by the user, as well as a data valuation step, checking how much the particular data adds to the data collective.
